DEPARTMENT OF TRADE, INDUSTRY AND CONSUMER AFFAIRS CELEBRATES GLOBAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP WEEK

Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) is the world’s largest celebration of innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare. GEW will be observed for the second consecutive year by the Department of Trade, Industry and Consumer Affairs from 16-22 November 2020.

GEW 2020 is being observed globally under four broad themes: Education, Ecosystems, Inclusion and Policy. Join the Department of Trade, Industry and Consumer Affairs and over 10 million entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs from 180 countries across the globe in celebrating GEW.

The Department celebrated the event last year by hosting a breakfast seminar on grant funding at The Sands resort in Grace Bay and a business mixer at the Grace Bay Club under the theme ‘Be Inspired’ with a presentation made by guest speaker Kristin Frazer of Treflé Designs: designer to clients such as Beyoncé, Blue Ivy and Chrisette Michele. Other activities also included the launch of a Department information video and a youth photo entry competition won by Mr. Bensly Pierre, who was presented with a brand new Nikon digital camera.

The Department will be sharing information throughout this week via the Turks and Caicos Islands Government Facebook page aimed at promoting and encouraging entrepreneurship across the Turks and Caicos Islands.
