Temporary Closure of TCIG Sport Facilities
As a result of the global concern in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Turks and Caicos Islands Department of Sports will be temporarily closing the following Sports Facilities until further notice as of March 20th 2020:
- Gustarvus Lightbourne Sport Complex – Providenciales
- Down Town Ball Park – Providenciales
- National Stadium – Providenciales
- Parade Grounds – Grand Turk
- Sports Complex – South Caicos
While to date, there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Turks and Caicos Islands, the Department of Sports will continue to monitor the virus through the Ministry of Health, Agriculture, Sports and Human Services and provide relevant updates.
We encourage all stakeholders to exercise caution in social settings such as while at outdoor basketball courts and play fields. We also recommend that residents stay active while in isolation by following home exercise programmes.
