Public Service Commences Phased Reopening Program

In line with Phase 1B of the Turks and Caicos Islands Phased Reopening Program, a number of key government departments reopened on Monday May 11, 2020 in order to provide critical services to the general public.

In order to ensure the safety of both staff and clients, offices received extensive deep cleaning prior to reopening; in addition to the installation of protective glass and other safety measures at a number of key locations.

Commenting on the phased reopening Deputy Governor and Head of the Public Service Her Excellency Anya Williams said: “The Turks and Caicos Public Service is working assiduously to provide critical services to the general public in a safe and efficient manner.

Where possible, we ask that persons continue to utilize the online payment and other systems that have recently been put in place to reduce the need to visit physical office spaces.

If you are required to visit a government office we ask that you strictly adhere to the protocols issued by the Ministry of Health, including the use of facial masks/coverings as well as social distancing protocols that require a minimum of 6 feet distance between customers.

In light of the social distancing protocols, kindly note that only a limited number of persons will be allowed access to services at a time.  We therefor ask for the public’s cooperation and understanding at this time.

We extend our profound thanks and appreciation to our staff that have worked diligently during the pandemic to ensure that critical services continue to be provided across government.  Your work has been exemplary and is much appreciated.

As we move into our first phase of reopening we ask for the public’s cooperation and support as we seek to provide service in the safest means possible during this COVID pandemic”.
