PRESS RELEASE:
Cessation of ALL First Time Work Permits
The Ministry of Immigration, Citizenship, Labour and Employment Services advises the general public that the Labour and Employment Service will cease to accept ALL First Time Work Permit Applications effective immediately until further notice.
We hasten to add, that all First Time Work Permit Applications received at the Labour Department prior to the cessation will be reviewed for a final decision by both the Board and the Commissioner of Labour.
The Hon Vaden Williams, Minister of Immigration, Citizenship, Labour and Employment Services, in his comments states that “in light of what is taking place globally, this measure, although ‘temporary’, is necessary at this time”. He further stated “once circumstances begin to improve globally and within the Turks and Caicos Islands, we will revisit First Time Work Permit Applications”.
Persons and Agents with the “Right to Work within the Turks and Caicos Islands” are requested and reminded to register as unemployed with the Labour Department either through email at
The Ministry thanks everyone in advance for your compliance and understanding with this measure.
